Nov. 13, 2014

Harrisburg – Just in time for the holidays, The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) will hold its ninth annual Holiday Marketplace featuring unique gifts for everyone on your list. The marketplace is open Thurs. and Fri., Nov. 20-21, from 10 am. to 3 p.m. in the atrium of the Commonwealth Keystone Building, 400 North St., Harrisburg.

The Holiday Marketplace is open to the public and showcases Pennsylvania-themed holiday gifts from a number of PHMC’s historic sites and museums across the state.  Products include handcrafted items such as beeswax candles, holiday decorations, reproductions of vintage toys and games, books, pottery, and maple sugar candy.

This year, Ephrata Cloister, Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum, Somerset Historical Center and The State Museum Store are participating.

The Pennsylvania Capitol Preservation Committee, Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and State Employees Recreation Association will offer items that reflect and support Pennsylvania’s heritage and natural beauty. There will be live, seasonal music during the lunchtime hours on both days.

The event is sponsored by PHMC’s non-profit support organization, the Pennsylvania Heritage Foundation.
