David K. Blackburn Appointed Site Administrator at Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum

 

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission (PHMC) today announced the appointment of David K. Blackburn to the position of site administrator at Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum. 

“David’s extensive experience with the National Park Service, along with his background in site administration, development, and interpretation, makes him the right choice for this position.” said Brenda Reigle, Director of PHMC’s Bureau of Historic Sites and Museums. “I am particularly impressed by his track record of successful community outreach projects.”

Before coming to Landis Valley, Blackburn served as site director at Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site, Elverson, PA, where he performed administrative, project management, interpretive, educational and curatorial functions. During his tenure with the National Park Service, Blackburn served as Acting Superintendent at First State National Historical Park in Newcastle, DE, Chief of Cultural Resources and Cultural Planning at Lowell National Historical Park in Lowell, MA and Chief of Interpretation and Visitor Services at the National Parks of the East Bay, San Francisco, CA.

Blackburn received a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Arizona, Tucson and a master’s degree in Cultural Resources Management from Sonoma State University, Rohnert Park, CA.
