If you own a business in Pennsylvania, the Department of General Services (DGS) has new ways to help you compete for state contracts. Two new programs are designed to open doors and make it easier for businesses like yours to grow.
What Are the Micro & Midsize Programs?
Micro Business Program – Created for smaller suppliers with 25 or fewer full-time employees as well as a 3-year average revenue less than or equal to $1 million. This program reserves opportunities so your business has a fair chance to compete.
Midsize Business Program – Built for businesses with 750 or fewer full-time employees, as well as a 3-year average revenue of more than $47 million but less than $141 million. If your company is growing, this program helps you take on bigger opportunities with the Commonwealth.
Why Do These Programs Matter?
These programs were designed to:
- Level the playing field so small businesses can compete with larger firms.
- Increase opportunities for small diverse businesses, including minority-, women-, veteran-, LGBTQ-, and disability-owned companies.
- Strengthen local communities by keeping more contract dollars with Pennsylvania businesses.
