Any person accepted for matriculation at a mortuary college or university specializing in mortuary subjects which have been approved by the American Board of Funeral Service Education.
QUALIFICATION
(a) To qualify as a student trainee, an applicant shall show evidence of high school graduation. Fulfillment of the college education requirement of subsection (b) is acceptable as evidence of high school graduation.
(b) At least 2 years of college credits in liberal arts is required. For purposes of this section, a minimum of 60 semester hours will constitute the equivalent of 2 years of college credit.
(c) An applicant, while attending an accredited college or university, shall file a declaration of the applicant’s intent to procure funeral service licensing and shall submit an application for a student trainee registration card renewable annually.
Degree Requirement:
Must be enrolled in Mortuary School - An applicant shall be accepted for matriculation at a mortuary college or a university or college specializing in mortuary subjects which has been approved by the American Board of Funeral Service Education and State Board of Funeral Directors.

Cannot renew trainee license.
Licensure by Act 41:
Act 41 requires licensing boards and commissions to issue a license, certificate, registration or permit to an applicant who holds a current license, certificate, registration or permit from another state, territory or country whose licensing requirements are substantially equivalent to or exceed the requirements in this Commonwealth and who meet other criteria set forth under Act 41.
