As defined in Board Regulations § 27.1. Definitions.

Pharmacy technician trainee—An individual who has been issued a temporary registration by the Board under section 3.3(b) of the act and §  27.703 (relating to qualifications for pharmacy technician trainee registration) that authorizes the individual to perform the duties of a pharmacy technician under the direct and immediate personal supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Examination Requirement: 

None.

Other Qualifications:

Be at least 16 years of age

Submit a criminal history record check

Continuing Education:

Applicants must complete 3 hours of Board-approved continuing education in child abuse recognition and reporting for initial registration. 

Initial Licensing Fee:

$15 –Pharmacy Technician Trainee Registration, expires after 2 years or after obtaining a pharmacy technician registration.
