State Elected Officials And Staff Visit The Keystone State ChalleNGe Academy, Highlighting Life-Changing Impact On Cadets

A recent visit to the Keystone State ChalleNGe Academy (KSCA) provided community leaders with an in-depth look at the academy’s transformative work with at-risk youth.

The tour began with an overview of KSCA’s mission and structure, followed by an opportunity to observe cadet formation, where cadets demonstrated the discipline, teamwork, and attention to detail that are instilled throughout the program. Visitors then proceeded to the dining facility to share lunch with cadets from their local districts, creating an opportunity for open conversation. During these discussions, cadets described their personal journeys, the challenges they faced before entering the program, and the ways in which the KSCA has helped them build confidence, accountability, and future goals.

The visit concluded with an open discussion session between staff, cadets, and attendees. This provided valuable insight into how the program balances academic instruction, physical fitness, mentoring, and leadership development to help participants achieve long-term success.

The experience showcased KSCA’s mission of providing structure, mentorship, and second chances for young people. Many of the cadets’ personal testimonies are also captured in a short video available here: Keystone State ChalleNGe Academy - Cadet Testimonials .

Looking ahead, the academy will celebrate the accomplishments of its current class at the KSCA Class 25-2 Graduation Ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at 10 a.m. The ceremony will honor cadets for their hard work, resilience, and achievements throughout the program.
