Winter Drawdown Scheduled for Fords Lake in Lackawanna County

null

HARRISBURG, Pa. (Nov. 17) – The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) announced today that it will begin drawing down Fords Lake in northeast Pennsylvania next week to control vegetation on the dam.

The 73-acre lake is located northeast of Scranton in Newton Township, Lackawanna County.
The lake will be lowered by approximately one and one-half feet to allow the vegetation to freeze. The lake will be refilled beginning in approximately mid-March 2018.
The lake will remain open for shoreline fishing during the drawdown period. Boaters, however, may have difficulty accessing the lake during the drawdown. Boating is limited to electric motors and unpowered boats.
