HARRISBURG, Pa. (November 1) –The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) announced today that portions of Hemlock Lake (formerly Straight Run Lake) located in Banks Township, Indiana County, will be impacted by repair work to be performed over fall and winter.
During this time, repairs will be made to the outlet structure, which controls the amount of water flowing out of the lake. There is no impact on downstream waters including Little Mahoning Creek.
Beginning today and for the next several months, visitors to Hemlock Lake will notice fluctuating water levels. Boaters, anglers, and hunters are advised that because of the lowered water levels, the two boat launches located on the east and west sides of the lake will be closed until further notice. Repairs are expected to be completed prior to the start of the spring boating season.
The PFBC thanks the public for their patience and understanding as these repairs are completed.
