HARRISBURG, Pa. (April 13) – The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) announced today that it will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, April 19, at the Conneaut Area Senior High School in Crawford County to discuss results from sampling conducted on the Pymatuning Reservoir Crappie population.
The meeting will be held from 6:30 – 8 p.m. in the cafeteria at the high school, located at 302 West School Drive, Linesville, PA 16424.
The meeting is free and the public is invited to attend.
“The data show that Crappie abundance and average size peaked in 2012, and have declined in the following years,” said Area 1 Fisheries Biologist Tim Wilson. “We are considering ways to improve Crappie numbers and size in response to this decline. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback on these approaches following the presentation.”
Pymatuning Reservoir, Pennsylvania’s largest inland lake, is located in Crawford County and Ashtabula County, OH. The reservoir is located in Pymatuning State Park, the Commonwealth’s largest state park.
