HARRISBURG, Pa. (Oct. 4) – The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) announced today that it will hold an informational meeting to discuss the restoration status of Dunkard Creek on Oct. 13 at the Mount Morris Sportsmen Club, 366 Watkins Run Road, Mount Morris, PA, 15349.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

7 p.m. — Welcome and Introductions — Rick Lorson, Area Fisheries Manager
7:10 p.m. — Fish Species Occurrence, Mussels, and Mudpuppies Recovery Status and Plans — Chris Urban, Natural Diversity Section Chief
7:35 p.m. — Gamefish and Panfish Fishery Status and Plans — Rick Lorson
7:55 p.m. — Questions and Closing remarks — Rick Lorson
The Dunkard Creek main stem begins near the town of Brave, Greene County, Pa., and meanders approximately 37 miles between Pa. and W.Va. until its confluence with the Monongahela River near Dunkard Township, Greene County, Pa.
In September 2015, the PFBC reached a $2.5 million settlement with Murray Energy for civil damages resulting from a devastating 2009 pollution incident in which discharges from a coal mine entered Dunkard Creek, contributing to a massive fish kill spanning nearly 30 miles of stream in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
