L:inesville State Fish Hatchery Open House Set for Saturday, April 6
MEADVILLE, PA (April
1) – The Pennsylvania
Fish and Boat Commission
(PFBC) invites the public to its annual Open House at
the
Linesville State Fish Hatchery
located in Crawford County on Saturday, April 6,
2019. This family-friendly event will run from
11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission and most activities are free.
Shake off the
winter blues with this fun and educational event featuring hands-on exhibits, skills
clinics and a chance to talk with experts in the fields of fishing and
conservation. Visitors can participate in the following activities:
- Watch the Walleye spawning process including fish sorting, removing/fertilizing eggs
- See native fish species in the 10,000-gallon viewing tank
- Casting skills clinic
- Learn basic fly tying and fly casting
- Learn how to tell the age of fish
- Paint a “fish print” onto a t-shirt ($3)
- Speak directly with PFBC staff and partner agencies
- Kayak fishing tips from the Kayak Anglers of Western Pennsylvania
- Purchase
your 2019 Pennsylvania Fishing license, permits and merchandise including collectible
posters, patches and books
