HARRISBURG, Pa. (October 25) – The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) is pleased to announce the completion of the Frenchville Access Area Improvement Project in Clearfield County. The access is now open to the public.
Located at the Deer Creek Road (State Route 1009) bridge in Graham Township, the access area was temporarily closed in December 2017. Improvements include an upgraded entrance road, new concrete launch ramp and expanded parking lot and turnaround area.
“All of these improvements will provide greater access to paddlers, boaters and anglers seeking recreational opportunities along the West Branch Susquehanna River,” said Paul Urbanik, Director of the PFBC Bureau of Engineering. “The improved design corrects the previous steep drop off at the entrance to the access that required drivers to perform complicated, unsafe maneuvers to launch their boats.”
The cost of the project was approximately $35,000.
