FALMOUTH ACCESS AREA IN LANCASTER COUNTY TO BE CLOSED TEMPORARILY

Falmouth Access Area in Lancaster County to be Closed Temporarily

HARRISBURG, Pa. (August 24) – The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) announced today that the Falmouth Access Area, which provides fishing and boating access to the Susquehanna River in Conoy Township, Lancaster County, will be closed temporarily from September 6-17, 2021.

During this time, PFBC construction staff will be removing the existing concrete plank boat ramp, which is in disrepair, and replacing it with a new poured concrete ramp.  This improvement will result in a safer, more durable, and long-lasting launch area for powered and unpowered boat operators.  The cost of the project is approximately $10,000.

While repairs are being completed at Falmouth, boaters should plan accordingly to find alternate access to the Susquehanna River.  Nearby free, public boat ramps are located at the PFBC's Middletown Access Area, located approximately 4.5 miles upstream, and at Riverfront Park in East Donegal Township, approximately 8 miles downstream.

The PFBC thanks the public for their patience and understanding as these improvements are completed.
