HARRISBURG, Pa. (August 20) – The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) announced today that a public meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, regarding the planned dam rehabilitation project at High Point Lake, Somerset County. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the gymnasium of the Confluence Borough Office, located at 711 Logan Place, Confluence, PA 15424.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting and receive information about the project from PFBC staff.
The $5.5 million dollar project, which will include the construction of a new dam embankment and spillway to meet Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection dam safety standards, is currently in the permitting phase. Following the issuing of final permits, construction is anticipated to begin in fall 2026 or spring 2027. Once construction begins, the project is expected to last approximately 1.5 years.
