The video fades from black.
The camera follows a man, a Pennsylvania State Police Cadet, wearing a suit as he jogs uphill on a leafy paved path. He is carrying heavy bags and a backpack.
[Luggage rattling, off-screen voices]
He moves past a uniformed State Police officer and joins the back of a line filled with other men and women in similar dress attire.
[Music intro begins]
The camera moves to the front of the line, where a uniformed State Police Sergeant holds a clipboard and talks to the lead Cadet.
(Sergeant) What’s your room number?
(Cadet) 2198.
(Sergeant) Say it again.
(Cadet) 2198, sir.
The following sequences are overlaid with the words of the State Police core values, scrolling right to left: Honor, Service, Integrity, Respect, Trust, Courage, and Duty.
Cadets in workout gear stand on a running track at the starting line and begin jogging.
[Music beat drops]
A close-up of a State Police Corporal’s shoulder patch and rank chevrons switches focus to a group of Cadets in a gymnasium performing pike-stance mountain climber exercises.
(Cadets in unison) 2-3-4, 7-2-3-4, 8-2-3-4, 9-2-3-4,
A group of Cadets do flutter kicks in a gym.
(Cadets in unison) 10-2-3-4
Cadets swim in an indoor pool while other Cadets do planks.
(Instructor) Touch and go!
An instructor walks past the camera, with a mask wipe transition revealing the next scene.
[Music volume lowers]
Two Cadets approach a parked vehicle with a driver inside. The Cadet at the driver’s side talks to the driver.
A voiceover featuring several speakers recite the State Police Call of Honor.
(VO speaker 1) I am a Pennsylvania State Trooper, a soldier of the law.
A close-up of the State Police patch on a black jacket is in the foreground. Out of focus in the background, two Cadets put a person in handcuffs.
(VO speaker 2) To me is entrusted the honor of the force.
Two Cadets with flashlights interact with a man wearing a hardhat in a dark hallway.
(VO speaker 3) I must serve honestly, faithfully, and if need be…
Cadets march in three columns down a road.
…lay down my life as others have done before me, rather than swerve from the path of duty.
Three Cadets in woodland camouflage jackets carry practice weapons and a door ram and move as a group. The lead Cadet carries a shield. An instructor observes.
(VO speaker 4) It is my duty to obey the law and to enforce it without any consideration of class, color, creed or condition.
During a training scenario, a Cadet enters an auditorium and finds a fellow Cadet applying a tourniquet to his leg.
(VO speaker 5) It is also my duty to be of service to anyone who may be in danger or distress…
A State Police Corporal walks between ranks of Cadets in formation during an inspection.
…and at all times so conduct myself…
(all speakers together) …that the honor of the force may be upheld.
A State Police patch appears, rotating into place while the scene behind fades to gray, then to black.
[Music swells]
A glow appears around the State Police patch as the fade to black is completed.
[Music fades]
