Hunter Access Program for Landowners

For Landowners

Who is eligible to enroll?

The Hunter Access Program is open to both private and public landowners.  The main requirement is the landowner must allow some form of hunting. The Hunter Access Program does not limit, in any way, the landowner from allowing friends, family, or whomever else to hunt or trap on their property.  The Hunter Access Program simply provides a mechanism for PUBLIC access to that property.

What are the landowner’s obligations?

Landowners must be willing to allow hunting on their property.  They must agree to having their property boundaries displayed on the PGC’s Hunter Access Program Mapping Center, along with details regarding any property specific hunting restrictions or landowner rules.

What benefits does the landowner get?

The PGC works closely with cooperating landowners to ensure their participation in the program is beneficial to both the landowner and wildlife.  In addition to the benefits of hunters helping manage wildlife and the continuation of hunting traditions and heritage, tangible benefits provided by the PGC include:

  • Free Game News subscription
  • Reduced cost Landowner Hunting License (80 acres required)
  • Free PGC calendar
  • Free tree and shrub seedlings from Howard Nursery *There will not be seedlings available in 2026*
  • Free nest boxes
  • Free program signage
  • Prioritized selection for grant funded habitat projects
  • Liability coverage from Recreational Use of Land and Water Act

Landowner Portal

In addition to the new website and mapping system that provides more information and transparency to the hunters. We have also created a landowner portal that is optional for the cooperators to create a login so they may access their agreements, property mapping, and reservations.
