Harrisburg, PA – This week, Governor Josh Shapiro and Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Secretary Rick Siger announced two major private sector investments — a $1.2 billion investment from Chobani to establish its first dairy product manufacturing operation in Pennsylvania and a $370 million investment from Burlington Stores Inc. to relocate their corporate headquarters from New Jersey to Philadelphia.
Chobani’s project — the largest ever private investment in Pennsylvania’s agriculture industry — will create 900 full-time jobs over the next five years in the Lehigh Valley and greatly expand markets and opportunities for more than 4,000 dairy farmers in Pennsylvania. Burlington’s project will bring the company’s corporate headquarters to West Philadelphia and create at least 2,000 new jobs, creating new opportunities for Pennsylvanians across the region.
These announcements build on the Shapiro Administration’s progress to bolster Pennsylvania’s economic development since taking office in 2023 and mark the official surpassing of $43 billion in private sector investment under Governor Shapiro’s leadership, creating nearly 29,000 good-paying jobs across the Commonwealth.
