Protecting Government Integrity

Protecting Government Integrity

The Office of State Inspector General protects the integrity of Pennsylvania state government by investigating reports of fraud, waste, abuse, and misconduct in state government agencies and programs.

This work protects taxpayer dollars and makes sure Pennsylvania state government is running well.

If you think there is an issue involving fraud, waste, abuse or misconduct within a state agency or involving a state employee, you can make a report to OSIG for investigation. All reports or complaints are reviewed by OSIG.

Pennsylvania’s Whistleblower Law protects Commonwealth employees who, in good faith, report instances of wrongdoing or waste to an appropriate authority, including OSIG.  (43 P.S. § 1423).

Pre-Employment Background Investigations

OSIG conducts pre-employment background investigations on positions of trust in state government. When good people are in charge, great things can happen in Pennsylvania.
