Milk dealers are licensed per sections 401 - 412 of the Pennsylvania Milk Marketing Law

Milk dealer licenses are valid for one license year, July 1 through June 30, with renewal applications due by June 15.

New applications and renewals must be completed online.  Instructions are here.  The online license application system allows applicants to, at any time, check the status of a partially completed application, and to determine the progress of a complete application.

The Milk Marketing Law provides no time requirements regarding Board action on license applications.  Complete license applications are processed by July 1 each year if they are received by June 15.  New applications received during a license year are processed within two weeks of receiving the complete application for inclusion on the next Board Sunshine Meeting agenda.

Milk subdealers are licensed per section 513 of the Milk Marketing Law.

Milk weigher/samplers are certified per section 603 of the Milk Marketing Law.

Milk weigher/sampler certificates are valid for one calendar year, January 1 through December 31.

The Milk Marketing Law provides no time requirements regarding Board action on weigher/sampler certification applications.  Complete applications are processed by January 1 each year if they are received by December 1.  New applications received during a certification year are processed within two weeks of receiving the complete application.

Milk weigher/samplers are also certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture to ensure compliance with sanitary requirements.  Information regarding PDA certification may be found on the PDA website.

Milk testers are certified per section 602 of the Milk Marketing Law.

Milk tester certificates are valid for one calendar year, January 1 through December 31.
