Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board’s Alcohol Education Team Returns to the 2026 Pennsylvania Farm Show

Bureau of Alcohol Education will distribute materials, talk with show attendees

Harrisburg – The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) will once again participate in the 2026 Pennsylvania Farm Show – offering visitors meaningful ways to prevent underage drinking, make responsible choices and strengthen communities – at one of the biggest events in the commonwealth and the largest indoor agricultural event in the country.

From Saturday, Jan. 10, through Saturday, Jan. 17, the PLCB Bureau of Alcohol Education will staff a booth near the goat snuggling experience in the Main Hall (where the famous butter sculpture is featured) of the Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg. Visitors of all ages can explore free educational materials, prevention resources and child-friendly activity books, and materials from the PLCB’s statewide education and prevention efforts.

“The PLCB has been part of Pennsylvania’s story for more than 90 years, reinvesting in communities, supporting public safety and helping generations celebrate life’s moments responsibly,” said Board Chairman Darrell Clarke. “The 110th Farm Show’s ‘Growing a Nation’ theme celebrating America’s 250th birthday resonates deeply, because it celebrates the values we’ve supported for nearly a century – helping Pennsylvanians mark life’s meaningful moments safely, joyfully and together.”

The PLCB booth will be staffed during regular farm show hours.

The PLCB works to educate the public about the risks of underage and dangerous drinking through a variety of other avenues throughout the year, by:

  • Providing millions of dollars in alcohol education grants to schools, law enforcement, and community organizations
  • Offering Responsible Alcohol Management Program (RAMP) training and resources to licensees to promote responsible alcohol service
  • Hosting an annual alcohol education conference for partners in prevention
  • Providing training and technical assistance to law enforcement and other organizations working to address the issues related to irresponsible consumption
  • Supporting collegiate student leadership and youth prevention initiatives
  • Supplying prevention materials for parents, educators, and community groups
  • Working closely with local partners to address dangerous and underage drinking

This work has earned significant statewide recognition. The Bureau recently received the Mary Ann Bowman Prevention Award from the Pennsylvania DUI Association, honoring the PLCB’s leadership and unwavering commitment to prevention, responsibility, and community safety.

Over nine decades, the PLCB has evolved from a system created to restrict access to alcohol into an organization centered on connection, service, and public good. As a statewide retailer and regulator, the PLCB works to support economic growth and reinvest in programs that keep people safe and benefit Pennsylvania’s communities.

The PLCB regulates the distribution of beverage alcohol in Pennsylvania, operates more than 560 Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores statewide, and licenses more than 20,000 alcohol producers, retailers, and handlers. The PLCB also works to reduce and prevent dangerous and underage drinking through partnerships with schools, community groups, and licensees. The PLCB reinvests in the state’s economy by returning taxes and profits – nearly $23.5 billion since the agency’s inception – to Pennsylvania’s General Fund, financing Pennsylvania’s schools, health and human services programs, law enforcement, and public safety and community initiatives. The PLCB also provides financial support for the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs, other state agencies, and local municipalities across the state.
