Valley Forge – The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board today announced that Christian Hackenberg and Michael Mauti, two Pennsylvania college football greats, will sign bottles of Whiteout Tequila Blanco during TASTE! Philadelphia Festival of Food, Wine & Spirits at the Valley Forge Casino Resort, 1160 First Ave., King of Prussia, on Friday, Oct. 17.
From 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, Oct. 17, Hackenberg and Mauti will appear and sign bottles of Whiteout Tequila Blanco (Code 100052385; $39.99) purchased from the on-site Fine Wine & Good Spirits store. Before the signing, at 6:30 PM on the main stage, Hackenberg and Mauti will host an exclusive food and tequila pairing. Guests can enjoy tailgate-style bites perfectly paired with White Out Tequila while hearing firsthand from the founders about their new brand.
Christian Hackenberg made an immediate impact when his college football career began in University Park in 2013. He led his team to a winning season and a bowl game victory that earned him conference Freshman of the Year honors. Over three seasons (2013-2015), he broke multiple program passing records, becoming the all-time leader in passing yards, completions, and total offense at the time. Known for his strong arm and poise, Hackenberg was selected in the second round of the 2016 pro football draft and had stints with professional teams in New York, Oakland, Philadelphia, and Cincinnati. Since his playing days, he has turned his focus to coaching, mentorship, and media, where he continues to share his passion for the game.
Michael Mauti was known as the emotional leader and heart of the University Park college football program during one of its most challenging periods. Playing from 2008 to 2012, he was a fierce linebacker and team captain who earned All-Conference and All-America honors for both his performance and his leadership. Drafted by a pro football team in 2013, Mauti went on to serve as special teams captain from 2015 to 2017 in New Orleans, where he delivered a memorable blocked punt returned for a touchdown, echoing one of the most iconic moments in franchise history. His career reflects a relentless commitment to excellence, resilience, and inspiring those around him.
According to the official Whiteout Tequila website, “Every bottle of Whiteout is crafted with care,” “born in the heart of Jalisco’s agave fields [in Mexico], and raised by the spirit of Pennsylvania: a place defined by grit, pride, and loyalty.” Founders Mauti and Hackenberg describe their journey to develop Whiteout – the packaging for which playfully features latitude and longitude coordinates just north of University Drive in University Park, PA – as an effort to “bottle a feeling – the kind that hits you when 100,000 voices turn into one.”
Hackenberg and Mauti will only sign bottles of their products purchased during the TASTE! event. No other items will be signed, and attendees cannot bring bottles purchased elsewhere into the TASTE! event. Attendees must be 21 years of age and older to enter TASTE!. Event attendees are reminded that the sale of alcoholic beverages – including signed bottles – without a license is strictly prohibited under Pennsylvania law.
TASTE! Philadelphia will also include entertaining demonstrations by celebrity chefs and A-list personalities; tastings from award-winning wineries, breweries and distilleries; samples from the best chefs and restaurants in the region; and educational and informative hands-on seminars and food-centric exhibits. Three sessions will be held:
- Friday from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- Saturday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Saturday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
