A native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, Kennedy was drafted by the Penguins as the 99th overall pick in the 2004 pro hockey draft. He began his Pittsburgh career by playing for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (their minor-league team) before being called up to the parent club. For six seasons, Kennedy was a gritty, integral part of the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was a member of the 2009 championship team. In 372 games for the Penguins, Kennedy racked up 76 goals and 92 assists. Before retiring in January 2017, he notched 89 goals and 126 assists over 527 games. He also scored the first Penguins goal at PPG Paints Arena (formerly CONSOL Energy Center). Nowadays, Kennedy coaches youth hockey and appears on SportsNet Pittsburgh to analyze Penguins hockey.
Founded in 1857 (before Canada was officially a country), J.P. Wiser’s is Canada’s oldest continuously produced whisky brand. J.P. Wiser was a cattle rancher from upstate New York who entered the distillery business in order to secure high-quality cattle feed (a byproduct of whisky distillation) for his cattle. His choice to age his whisky longer than others at the time led to both its quality and its popularity.
