Ardmore – The Fine Wine & Good Spirits (FW&GS) Premium Collection store at Ardmore Plaza, 62 Greenfield Ave., Ardmore, Montgomery County, will host a bottle signing featuring legendary Philadelphia basketball star Julius “Dr. J” Erving starting at 2:00 PM Saturday, Sept. 26.
Dr. J will sign pre-purchased bottles of American Harvest Organic Vodka (code 100057523, $25.99) for those 21 years of age and older.
Customers wishing to meet Dr. J must have purchased a bottle of American Harvest Organic Vodka at the Ardmore Plaza FW&GS location that day in order to receive a nontransferable wristband. Purchase is limited to two bottles per customer. Bottles will go on sale when the store opens at 9:00 AM Saturday, Sept. 26.
Dr. J will not sign any additional items. Other items and memorabilia will not be allowed into the store during the event. Event attendees must be 21 or older or chaperoned by an adult age 21-plus.
Julius Winfield Erving, internationally recognized as "Dr. J," is one of the most influential figures in the history of professional basketball and a true innovator who helped revolutionize the way the game is played. Widely regarded as one of the all-time greats, Erving was a defining force in two of the top professional basketball associations and is often considered one of the catalysts for their merger in 1976. Over the course of his 16-year professional playing career, Erving scored 30,026 points across his career, retiring as the third-highest scorer in professional basketball history at the time, behind only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Wilt Chamberlain. He averaged more than 22.0 points per game across 11 seasons with the Philadelphia professional basketball team. In 1993, Erving was elected to the professional basketball hall of fame and was also named to the league's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team. In 1994, Dr. J was named one of the 40 most important athletes of all time. In 2017, he was recognized among the 50 Greatest Living Athletes. In 2021, he was named to the league's Top 75 Anniversary Team, further affirming his enduring relevance, influence, and generational impact well beyond his playing career.
