Fine Wine & Good Spirits to Welcome Jim Cramer to Philadelphia-Area Premium Collection Stores

Host of 'Mad Money' to sign bottles of Fósforo Mezcal on November 4

Harrisburg – The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) today announced that Jim Cramer, author and host of CNBC's "Mad Money", will sign pre-purchased bottles of Fósforo Mezcal at two Fine Wine & Good Spirits (FW&GS) Premium Collection stores in the Philadelphia area on Saturday, Nov. 4.

Born in Wyndmoor, Montgomery County, Jim Cramer has hosted "Mad Money" for the last 17 years and co-anchors "Squawk on the Street." He authored five national bestsellers. Cramer earned both bachelor's and law degrees from Harvard College before founding his own hedge fund. A dedicated Philadelphia Eagles fan, he rarely misses a home game and appreciates spending time in and around southeastern Pennsylvania. A passionate mezcal consumer and category expert, Cramer and his wife, Lisa, regularly travel to Mexico to sample mezcal expressions from several Mexican states. Jim is the "global ambassador of taste," and Lisa is the founder and creative director of Fósforo Mezcal.

Fósforo Mezcal is un-aged and crystal clear. On the nose are pronounced aromas of ripe fruit, bell pepper, honey, wet stone, and smoldering campfire. The palate is lively, with rounded notes of cooked agave, caramelized pineapple, and fresh herbs that give way to a subtle smoky-smooth finish and a full mouthfeel. Fósforo Mezcal is roasted for five to eight days in underground pits before fermentation that lasts from 10 days to two weeks before it is double-distilled.

Customers will also have opportunity to sample Fósforo Mezcal Tobalá Penca, an expression with a brilliant amber color and a nose that unveils layers of complexity, leading with young leather, caramel, and spices. The complex aroma profile shows hints of white flower and lemongrass. Fósforo Mezcal Tobalá Penca (code 649071; $128.39) is available through special order at FWGS.com.

Cramer will sign pre-purchased bottles of Fósforo Mezcal (code 88165; $94.99) on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the following FW&GS Premium Collection stores:

  • 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM – The Shoppes at Veterans Lane, 132 Veterans Lane, Doylestown
  • 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM – Ardmore Shopping Center, 62 Greenfield Ave., Ardmore

FW&GS customers 21 years of age and older can sample Fósforo Mezcal products at each FW&GS location during each bottle signing. Event attendees must be at least 21 to enter the premises or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Participants are reminded that the sale of alcoholic beverages without a license is strictly prohibited under Pennsylvania law. Cramer regrets he is unable to sign any items other than bottles purchased at each FW&GS store on the day of each signing.

The PLCB regulates the distribution of beverage alcohol in Pennsylvania, operates about 600 retail and wholesale sales locations statewide, and licenses 20,000 alcohol producers, retailers, and handlers. The PLCB also works to reduce and prevent dangerous and underage drinking through partnerships with schools, community groups, and licensees. Taxes and store profits – totaling nearly $20.3 billion since the agency's inception – are returned to Pennsylvania's General Fund, which finances Pennsylvania's schools, health and human services programs, law enforcement, and public safety initiatives, among other important public services. The PLCB also provides financial support for the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs, other state agencies, and local municipalities across the state.
