Reinstatement of Certification

Individuals who were​ decertified by the Commission are eligible for consideration for reinstatement of certification.

Applying for reinstatement

Act 165 of 2012 requires MPOETC to develop standards and guidelines to govern the reinstatement of municipal police officers and certified school instructors who have had their certification suspended or revoked. This policy and procedure is outlined in Consideration for Reinstatement of Certification [45 Pa.B. 5502].

Previously certified officers and instructors seeking reinstatement should fill out the Application for Reconsideration of Certification.

All applications for consideration for reinstatement of certification shall be notarized and accompanied by the appropriate background checks, written conditional offer of employment, and any supplemental documentation.
