The Governor’s Office of General Counsel is seeking current OGC attorneys who are ready to expand their practice and take on a dynamic mix of transactional, regulatory, and advisory work supporting the Governor’s Office and the executive agencies.

What You'll Do:

You’ll work closely with Deputy General Counsels across three core areas:

  •  Transactions
    Draft, review, and negotiate procurement documents and agreements, including contracts, MOUs, IT/software agreements, and other complex or novel arrangements advancing Commonwealth priorities.
  • Regulations
    Advise on and help shape proposed regulations by analyzing legal authority, policy implications, and guiding rules through the formal rulemaking process.
  • Right-to-Know Law
    Review and respond to public records requests, applying legal judgment to disclosure questions and coordinating with executive staff.

 

Who We're Looking For:

We are looking for someone who can move seamlessly between different types of legal work while maintaining attention to detail and a practical, solutions-oriented approach. You will:

  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and attention to detail in all aspects of their work;
  • Exercise sound judgment and maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion;
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and in advising clients and colleagues;
  • Be responsive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities;
  • Work collaboratively, take direction well, and contribute positively as part of a team; and
  • Show initiative, adaptability, and a commitment to public service. 


Qualifications

  • Current Attorney 1 or Attorney 2 graded OGC employee
  • Minimum one-year employment at OGC
