What happens next?
If you meet the eligibility criteria and have gathered your documents, you can apply.
The Board of Pardons reviews your application and confirms your eligibility. If it meets the criteria, your case will move forward to a combined merit review and public hearing session.
Your case will be reviewed at a combined merit review and public hearing session. The Board will vote on your application. Applicants for misdemeanor marijuana pardons only are not required to attend the hearing.
If a majority of the board votes in favor, they will recommend clemency to the Governor.
The Governor reviews your case. If approved, you will receive a signed charter in the mail. If denied, you will be notified.
