Overview
The Department of Environmental Protection lets homeowners fill or dig in wetlands to build or expand their homes. This includes things like driveways, sheds, or utilities on lots. The work can't disturb more than 0.50 acres of wetland. This permit also includes approval for water quality. There is a registration fee based on state rules.
Note: The Department and County Conservation District are not responsible for any damage or problems from building in wetlands.
