    2026-27 PA State Budget

    Rapid Deployment Projects

    As part of the final 2026-27 state budget, the Shapiro Administration will drive out $775 million from the Motor License Fund over the next two fiscal years for shovel-ready projects to repair state-owned roads across Pennsylvania.

     

    This investment includes $500 million this fiscal year and $275 million next fiscal year.

    Delivering these Rapid Deployment Projects (RDP) allows better projects to happen faster (paving instead of patching, for example) without affecting future projects. The investment also allows PennDOT maintenance crews and funds to focus on other roadways, bringing even more improvements statewide.

    Use the map below to see RDP to start work or go out for bid in calendar year 2026 using $250 million of the $775 million.

    The funds are being allocated consistent with how the department manages its 12-Year Program, with each PennDOT district’s allocation displayed below.

    The remaining $525 million will be delivered in calendar year 2027, with PennDOT developing projects in alignment with other planned projects and potential needs after the winter season.
