Veterans, Military and Their Families Invited to Attend Free Finance and Investment Conference

Harrisburg – Veterans, members of any branch of the military and their spouses are invited to attend the “Making $ense of Finance” conference at Fort Indiantown Gap, Building 8-80, Annville, on Monday, July 14, 2014, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The conference program is geared specifically towards the financial and investing challenges faced by members of the military and veterans. Those in attendance can choose workshops led by experts in the following areas:

  • Investing 101: Building a Nest Egg for Long Term Goals
  • Budgeting: Build Wealth, Not Debt
  • Credit Reports and Credit Scores
  • Protecting Your Identity
  • Using Life Insurance “Effectively” to Protect Your Family
  • Estate Planning: “Preserving and Transferring” Your Assets
  • Maximizing Your Retirement Savings Through the Thrift Savings Plan
  • Understanding Your Military Benefits

The “Making $ense of Finance” conference is free to members of the military, veterans and their spouses. Free refreshments and parking are included.  Space is limited; registration is required and available online at The first 200 people to register will receive a $25 gift card for attending and participating in the conference.

“Making $ense of Finance” is made possible through the Pennsylvania Military Finance Alliance, a cooperative effort of the PA Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, PA Department of Banking and Securities, PA National Guard, PA Office of Attorney General, Army OneSource, Better Business Bureaus Serving Eastern and Western PA, Liberty USO and Advantage Credit Counseling Services.
