Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine
Lancaster General Health is a member of the University of Pennsylvania Health System (Penn Medicine). LG Health is a not-for-profit community health system with a comprehensive network of services. The system has been recognized regionally and nationally for clinical excellence and patient safety and ranked nationally by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation's best hospitals. In 2007, LG Health formed Lighten Up Lancaster County (LULC), a coalition of organizations and individuals dedicated to creating an environment that supports healthy eating and physical activity. The coalition works to raise awareness regarding the importance of pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure and to ensure that everyone has access to safe spaces for physical activity. The Southwest Lancaster City walking route was developed by LG Health in partnership with Lancaster Rec, the Boys and Girls Club of Lancaster, the Community Action Partnership and the City of Lancaster.
