Revenue Department Releases November 2013 Collections

 

Harrisburg – Pennsylvania collected $1.7 billion in General Fund revenue in November, which was $800,000 more than anticipated, Secretary of Revenue Daniel Meuser reported today. Fiscal year-to-date General Fund collections total $9.9 billion, which is $42.6 million, or 0.4 percent, above estimate.

 

Sales tax receipts totaled $723.1 million for November, $10.6 million below estimate. Year-to-date sales tax collections total $3.8 billion, which is $15.4 million, or 0.4 percent, more than anticipated.

 

Personal income tax (PIT) revenue in November was $688.9 million, $10.7 million below estimate. This brings year-to-date PIT collections to $4.1 billion, which is $5.4 million, or 0.1 percent, below estimate.    

 

November corporation tax revenue of $51.8 million was $5.3 million above estimate. Year-to-date corporation tax collections total $800.6 million, which is $15.5 million, or 2 percent, above estimate.

 

Inheritance tax revenue for the month was $67.4 million, $16.2 million above estimate, bringing the year-to-date total to $354.5 million, which is $15.9 million, or 4.7 percent, above estimate.

 

Realty transfer tax revenue was $27.9 million for November, $1.7 million above estimate, bringing the fiscal-year total to $173.4 million, which is $4.3 million, or 2.5 percent, more than anticipated.

 

Other General Fund tax revenue, including cigarette, malt beverage, liquor and table games taxes, totaled $133 million for the month, $4.1 million above estimate and bringing the year-to-date total to $610.8 million, which is $100,000 below estimate.

 

Non-tax revenue totaled $6.9 million for the month, $5.2 million below estimate, bringing the year-to-date total to $77.4 million, which is $3.1 million, or 3.8 percent, below estimate.

 

In addition to the General Fund collections, the Motor License Fund received $167.3 million for the month, $2.6 million below estimate. Fiscal year-to-date collections for the fund – which include the commonly known gas and diesel taxes, as well as other license, fine and fee revenues – total $985 million, which is $17.1 million, or 1.7 percent, below estimate.
