Lady Susan Corbett Announces New Statewide Art Contest for Individuals with
Disabilities in Partnership with The Arc of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Council
on the Arts
Harrisburg – First Lady Susan Corbett today
announced a new art contest − a partnership between The Arc of Pennsylvania,
the commonwealth and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts − that will showcase
artwork from Pennsylvanians with disabilities.
“Art is a
language that transcends ability,” Mrs. Corbett said. “Pennsylvanians
with disabilities have a lot to overcome, but it is their abilities and talents
that we often overlook. That’s why I am proud to announce a new partnership
between The Arc of Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and the
commonwealth to launch a statewide art contest entitled ‘Art: The Universal
is open to any Pennsylvanian of any age with a disability.
